Olivia’s records speak for themselves – leading soccer scorer and school records with goals and points scored in soccer during her sophomore year and a 1,000 point scorer in basketball. However, it is Olivia’s perseverance, grit and determination in addition to her sportsmanship and her selfless attitude with teammates and adults she interacts with that sets her apart from others. Olivia has the capability to “empower others around her to continue to reach for more, to better themselves as she motivates and supports her teammates through her unwavering support and motivational leadership qualities, both on and off the court.” Olivia is commended for her sportsmanship and how she cares, supports and challenges her teammates as athletes, and more importantly, as people.
Olivia is an active, outgoing and influential presence in the classroom who is committed to her academic achievement. As a member of the Honors program at Uxbridge High School, Olivia demonstrates and is commended for her excellence in written and verbal communication skills. She recently was awarded first place with her partner in an Innovation Challenge that she was tasked with completing in her Biomedical Science class. The developed innovation is for future treatment and management of diabetes and was presented at the Mass STEM Hub in conjunction with Project Lead the Way curriculum. Her perseverance, determination and teamwork earned her this prestigious recognition.
In the community, Olivia is involved with her church as a children’s ministry leader and a member of the Connect Team which helps the youth grow their faith as well as welcome parishioners to Sunday service. She also volunteers many hours with the local youth sports programs to help develop youngsters in not only their sport skills but also their people skills. Her warm smile, genuine interest in people and desire to help others makes the Uxbridge community a better place.
