Aerial Spraying for Mosquitoes
From the Uxbridge Board of Health. Uxbridge is at Critical Risk of Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE). The Uxbridge Board of Health and the State are urging residents to continue to take personal precautions to prevent mosquito bites and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health has announced a second round of aerial spraying for mosquitoes. The second round of aerial spraying is scheduled to begin this evening, September 10th between 7:15 pm and 4:30 am and continuing over several evenings. This schedule is dependent on weather and equipment and may change. All of Uxbridge is within the spray map. While the spraying activity is expected to reduce the mosquitoes that spread EEE, it will NOT eliminate risk. Residents are urged to take personal protective actions and visit the Uxbridge town website at www.uxbridge-ma.gov for more information. All outside activity on Town properties is suspended from 6pm-8am. Talk to your neighbors. Spread the word so everyone knows the danger!
